Digital Manipulation Analysis

“Electric Guitar” by Erik Johansson

Erik Johansson is mostly known for his photography in digital manipulation and has a large range of artwork dedicated to this topic. The following photograph “Electric Guitar” was manipulated by Johansson by taking a landscape photograph of the pylons and one of the guitar too. This was then edited within Photoshop by using layers etc.  The photographer has removed the power plant that was previously in the landscape photograph and replaced this with the guitar enlarged (from the second photograph.) This is eventually merged into one photograph and makes the illusion that the guitar is really freakishly large.

Christophe Huet

French digital artist, Christophe Huet is truly a master of manipulation. His work is fascinating and is he is well known for creating advertisements for clients such as Nike, Motorola and the Surfrider Foundation. The following photograph hasn’t been named although I thought it was particularly unusual. Huet composites computer generated art and photography in order to melt the barrier (literally) between waking life and the dream world within his surreal advertisements. This can also be created by using Photoshop and layers.
